Our Ministry
The Living Christ Gospel Ministries International is a bible-based organization committed to proclaiming, demonstrating and establishing the Gospel and reality of the Living Christ Jesus who is the only Mediator between the Almighty God and created man since he himself is both. We believe he is the first and last; who was, is and continue to remain the same and we believe that Salvation of the total man is only through him, his finished work and his final word for mankind. We believe in the Holy Scriptures (Bible) as God’s infallible word by the Holy Spirit through holy men to and as a standard for all men.
Our History
The Ministry was founded in February of 1987 through God’s servant Apostle Dr. Joseph Nosakhare Obamwonyi who was disciple and trained, has preached and served in other Ministries (Christ Apostolic Church & Christ Atonement Church) respectively for nearly two decades in preparation for the call to this new Vision and Mission. His wife Rev. Mrs. Stella Dupe Obamwonyi has been and remains of immense support to this Vision and Mission.
The Mission which has proved divine in nature and has produced fine Christians and sound spiritual leaders over the years and helped countless number in their journey through this transient dream and pilgrimage called ‘life on earth’.
Our Leadership
President and Founder
The supposed founder Apostle Joseph Nosakhare Obamwonyi always attributed the claim that the Holy Ghost is the President and Founder of the Ministry and thus would not assume that title. He preferred to be referred to as The General Overseer.
Current leader and leadership
Following the glorious exit of the vision bearer from earth on 22nd July, 2014, the Ministry and Mission is currently led by Apostle Lazarus Nosa Obamwonyi as the General Overseer and Apostle Joseph Obamwonyi as the Deputy General Overseer, on the auspices of the Mother in Israel Rev. Mrs. D.S. Obamwonyi who is a co-vision bearer, and under the guidance/headship of the Holy Ghost.
What we believe
Article of Faith
We believe;
- In One True Invincible, Indivisible and Eternal God who is Creator of all things, manifested in nature as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, revealed to humanity in the person of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
- In the Authority of the Holy bible; the infallible written word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit
- In the virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, triumphant resurrection and ascension of the LORD JESUS CHRIST who is the son of God.
- In the fallen human nature as a result of Adam’s disobedience and curse.
- That Salvation is only by Faith in our Lord Jesus Christ which brings about repentance from sin.
- In the resurrection of the dead and life everlasting only in Christ.
- In the second coming of our LORD JESUS CHRIST and in the rapturing of the Church (the body of Christ) to meet the Lord in the air.
- In total sanctification and holiness of believers.
- That marriage is between one man and one woman in life.
- In Tithes and offerings as a means of supporting the church financially willingly.
- That the Holy Communion should be administered in the Church, usually once a week at least – first day of the week (Sunday).
- That the leadership of the Church consists of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Elders, Deacons and Deaconesses according to scriptures.
- In water baptism by immersion after confession of Faith in the LORD JESUS CHRIST; haven repented from sin, believed the Gospel and willingly accepted Jesus Christ as LORD and SAVIOUR; being determined to be a member and disciple of Christ.
- In the baptism of the Holy Ghost, with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- In the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation and exercise of them in the Church today.
- In the divine miraculous healing and deliverance by the power of the Holy Ghost.
- That a person dies once and burial is also once.
Our Basis
Love and Discipleship
We believe in love for God and for all humans – sure, pure and practical and we believe this is the mark of a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
We believe in true discipleship and holiness inside-out and believe this come by the Holy Spirit through the holy word of God rather than by manipulations or control measures. Thus, we acknowledge the free will of every human.
Prayer and Action
We believe in prayers as well as in practical applications to solving problems and meeting needs – faith with corresponding works. We also believe in miracles, signs and wonders in addition to all the gifts and manifestations of the Holy Ghost in the name of Jesus Christ.
Five-Fold Ministries
We believe in the five-fold Ministerial gifts of Christ to raise true disciples and established holiness inside-out and we believe this come by the Holy Spirit through the holy word of God rather than by manipulations or control measures.
